Create a cut list

You can create cut lists for the current production control job in the Cut Lists dialog box or from the purchasing reports.

Before you can create a cut list, ensure that the items are combined into an inventory item. There are multiple methods to create and combine inventory items:

To view the status of materials, do one of the following:

  • Right-click the display grid and select Customize grid > Material Status and click Apply Layout.
  • View material links, see View material links.
  • If the job is linked to a Trimble Connect project: Right-click the display grid and select Model Interface.
  1. Do either of the following:
      1. Access the Cut Lists dialog box.

        See Access Cut Lists dialog box.

      2. Click New Cut List.
    • On the Production Control ribbon tab, select Purchasing > Reports > .

    The Production Control Purchasing Report Filters dialog box opens.

  2. Select the items that you want to include in the cut list:

    When you are creating a new cut list, Tekla PowerFab by default filters the items in the new cut list so that only items that are not yet assigned to a cut list are included.

    1. In the Production Control Purchasing Report Filters dialog box, click Reset to reset the default filter.
  3. To include only specific types of items, do the following (Optional):
    1. Select a filter type in the Type list, and click Select.

      The Filter dialog box opens.

    2. Do one of the following depending on the filter type:
      • Click the arrow buttons to move the items that you want to include in the report to the Included list.
      • Type the maximum and minimum values for the items that you want to include.
    3. Click OK.
  4. Click Make Report.

    The Report Selection dialog box opens.

    1. Select the report that best suits your needs and click View.

      Tekla PowerFab Report Viewer opens.

      Before you save the cut list, view the cut list report to check that it contains the required materials. If the cutting details contain items that do not match the current filter, they are highlighted in italics and strikethrough on the reports.

    2. View the report and close it.
  5. To save the cut list, in the Report Selection dialog box, click Save Cut List.

    The Save Cut List dialog box opens.

  6. Type or select values for Cut List Description, and Date Required, and select Share Cut List, and Lock Cut List as needed.

    Cut List Description: You can select an existing cut list to save the filtered items there or type a new description.

    Notes: Type any additional information

    Share Cut List: The availability depends on the selection of integrations.

    Lock Cut List: Select if you do not want anyone to make changes to the cut list.

  7. Select a workshop (optional), machine group, machine (optional), and priority (optional) from the lists.

    This helps the machine operators know where the cut list should be processed, and to define the priority for all the cut lists that are assigned to a particular machine group or machine.

    Depending which one you select first, the workshop, machine group, or machine, it restricts the next selection depending what has been defined in Workshop Maintenance. See Manage workshops.

    Only users with the appropriate rights can update Date Required, Cut List Description, Notes, WorkshopMachine, and Priority. See Manage Tekla PowerFab remote user permissions

  8. Click Save To Cut List.

    If the combined details are not a complete match for the filter, for next steps see Save cut list - partially matched filter. Otherwise, do the next step.

  9. When prompted, click OK to return to the Report Selection dialog box.
  10. To close the dialog box, click the Close button (X) in the upper-right corner.

The saved cut list records the selected items to be cut based on the filter.
