1. Go to Maintenance > Cost Maintenance > Cost Types.

   The Cost Type Maintenance dialog box opens.

   

2. Click New.
3. In Cost Type, type the abbreviation identifying the cost type.
4. In Description, type a description for the code.
5. Select Active.

   If you have an old cost type that you cannot delete because it has been used in old jobs but you do not want use it anymore, you can deactivate it by deselecting the Active checkbox.

6. Click Save.

1. Go to Maintenance > Cost Maintenance > Cost Types.

   The Cost Type Maintenance dialog box opens.

2. Select the code that you want to modify.
3. Modify the abbreviation and description as needed.
4. To save the changes, click Edit.

Deleting a cost type is permanent. After deleting a cost type, it is not available for use anymore.

1. Go to Maintenance > Cost Maintenance > Cost Types.

   The Cost Type Maintenance dialog box opens.

2. Select the code that you want to delete.
3. Click Delete.

   A confirmation dialog box opens.

4. To permanently delete the code, click Yes.
