Assign and view default cost codes and cost types

You can view, assign, and modify default cost codes and cost types across all areas within Tekla PowerFab in Cost Codes Assignments. You can assign default cost codes to costs that are not covered by the main steel categories or labor rates.

  1. Go to Maintenance > Estimating > Fabricator Information.

    The Fabricator Information dialog box opens.

  2. Click Cost Codes.

    The Cost Codes Assignments dialog box opens.

  3. Assign or modify the cost codes and cost types.
  4. Click OK.

    You return to the Fabricator Information dialog box.

  5. Click Save.

In Cost Codes Assignments, you have buttons for access to other areas that you need to set up, that is, Labor Rates, Estimate Extras, Shape Maintenance, and Standard Clips.

When you make changes to the cost codes or cost types in the Labor Rates, for example, the changes show here in real time.

You can also change cost codes and cost types for each job separately.
