Adjust Tekla PowerFab spell-checking settings

Tekla PowerFab has a spell-checking tool that allows you to spellcheck the text that you write in input fields. Automatic spell-checking is enabled by default in Project Management for subject lines and body texts. You can also perform spell-checking manually in any input field in any Tekla PowerFab module.

Enable spell-checking

If your settings.ini file does not contain the spell-checking function, you need to edit the file to add it.

  1. Ensure that Tekla PowerFab is closed.
  2. Go to the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Tekla\Tekla EPM\Settings folder.
  3. Find and open the settings.ini file in a text editor.
  4. To find or add the section, write [SpellCheck].
    • [SpellCheck]
    • Enabled=1
    • AutoSpellCheckEnabled=1
    • Dictionary=en_US
  5. Save and close the settings.ini file.

Perform spell-checking

  1. In Tekla PowerFab, click the field whose text you want to spell-check.
  2. Press Ctrl+S on the keyboard.

Tekla PowerFab spell-checks the text in the current field.

  3. If you need to add a new word to the dictionary, so that the spell-checking tool will recognize it in the future, right-click the word and select Add.

New words are saved in the tekla-epm.dic file C:\Users\Public\Documents\Tekla\Tekla EPM\Settings\. Do not edit the tekla-epm.dic file manually.
