Material traceability in Tekla PowerFab

Material traceability involves recording heat numbers, which originate at the mill. They provide information about the quality and compliance of the material.

In Tekla PowerFab you can record the mill's heat number when you add material to inventory, either by manual input or when receiving a purchase order.

When you enter a heat number, it is also possible to attach associated documents, such as Mill Test Reports (MTR). The heat documents provide additional traceability and are often required for project handover documentation.

We strongly recommend that where possible, you enter the heat numbers into Tekla PowerFab to allow the material to be accurately traced when needed.
