The balcony package is including three components:
Balcony, Balcony force joint and Balcony side heels (only supported to TS2021).
Balcony_2F is additional and downloaded separately from Tekla Warehouse.

There are also several embedded component items to use with the balcony components.

Of course other embedded components can be used, where the possibility to set the position of the component can be saved in an attribute file and be load in the balcony component.

Notice: To get the profiles RECT and RECTV to work, it is necessary to reopen the model after the import of the Balcony package. This also reads in the attribute files for the component items.

Select two points in the model to set the insertion point and direction of the balcony. The yellow handle symbolizes the start point and the purple handle the direction of the component.

Settings for the Balcony

Picture tab

1. Select appropriate length of the balcony. Balcony_2F has both left and right side input.

2. Select the appropriate width of the balcony. Balcony_2F can extend corners left and right.
3. Set the drip nose distance from the side of the balcony.
4. Define the chamfer of the balcony edge.
5. Choose the entrance distance from the upper corner of the balcony and set the opening entrance width. Choose creation yes or no of the entrance opening.
6. Set the distances between the heels as a distance list.
7. Choose the first heel distance from the upper corner of the balcony and heel width.
8. Define the backside thickness of the balcony.
9. Set the drip nose end (left and right side separately) related to the balcony back side. On the right side the size of the drip nose can be set.
10. Define the front side thickness of the balcony.
11. Create insulation or not.
12. Define the beginning of the chamfer from the backside of the balcony.
13. Create left and right chamfer or not.

Details tab

1. Name, Material etc. can be set for the balcony and insulation.

2. The edge dimensions for back side can be set.
3. The shape of the heel can be defined.
4. The edge dimensions for left and right side can be set.
5. Length of the edge can be set for left and right side.
6. Creation of the side edge can be set to “yes” or “no” for both sides separately.
7. The edge can be set horizontal with a precision deviation of max plus and minus 0.5 mm.

Balcony railing tab

1. Choose component and attribute file for the balcony railing connections.

2. Set the distances between the railing connections as a distance list in front.
3. Choose the first railing connection distance from the left side of the balcony.
4. Set the distances between the railing connections as a distance list at the sides.
5. Choose the first railing connection distance from the back side of the balcony.
6. Set the distance from the bottom of the balcony to the center of the railing connection.

Balcony lift tab

1. Select component and attribute file for the balcony lift.

2. Set the distance to the SKRF from the balcony side.
3. Set the distance to the Balcony lift on the back from the balcony side (applies to both for Balcony. Balcony_2F has left and right input).
4. Set the distance to the SKRF from the balcony back.
5. Create SKRF or not.
6. Set the distance to the Balcony lift on the front from the balcony side (applies to both for Balcony. Balcony_2F has left and right input).
7. Set the distance to the Balcony lift on the Back from the balcony bottom (applies to both).
8. Set the distance to the Balcony lift on the front from the balcony bottom (applies to both).
9. Choose component and attribute file for SKRF.

Lift rebars tab

1. Set the Prefix, Start No., Name, Size etc. for the balcony lift rebars back and front.

2. Define Cover thickness for the balcony lift rebars back and front.
3. Set the leg length of the rebar for the balcony lift back.
4. Distance from the bottom of the balcony to the center of the rebar for the balcony lift back.
5. Set the leg length of the rebar for the balcony lift front.
6. Distance from the bottom of the balcony to the center of the rebar for the balcony lift front.

The balcony lift rebars follows the position of the balcony lift from the sides.

Heel o & u rebars tab

1. Set the Prefix, Start No., Name, Size etc. for the heel rebars over and under.

2. Define Cover thickness for the heel rebars over and under.
3. Set the length of the heel over rebar measured from the heel top.
4. Set the length of the heel under rebar measured from the heel bottom.

PSA o & u tab

1. Select component and attribute file for the PSA.

2. Set the distances between the PSA components as a single distance.
3. Define the PSA distance from the top and side of the heel.
4. Define an offset of the PSA from the heel.
5. Create PSA or not. If No is chosen the rebars will be created instead.

Stirrup tab

1. Set the Prefix, Start No., Name, Size etc. for the stirrup.

2. Define Cover thickness for stirrup.

Border side rebars tab

1. Set the Prefix, Start No., Name, Size etc. for the border side left and right rebars.

3. Add rebar group and define CC between added rebar groups as a distance list.

Border f & b rebars tab

1. Set the Prefix, Start No., Name, Size etc. for the border front and back rebars.

1. Set the Prefix, Start No., Name, Mesh type etc. for the Mesh over and under.

Corners left rebars tab

1. Set the Prefix, Start No., Name, Size etc. for the corner rebars left side, front and back.

Balcony force joint and Balcony_2F force joint

Switch the select filter to “Select objects in components”

Then take the command and select first the slab of the balcony and second the insertion point at the left back corner of the balcony.

Picture tab

1. Select appropriate length of the balcony force joint left and right.

2. Set distance from the balcony back for the balcony force joint left and right.
3. Create balcony force joint left and right or not.

Balcony side heels and Balcony_2F side heels

(Balcony side heels only supported to TS2021 - Not compatible with Balcony_2F)

1. Set the Prefix, Start No., Name, Size etc. for the stirrup left and right side.

2. Define Cover thickness for stirrup left and right side.

Heel left rebars tab (same as right side)

1. Set the Prefix, Start No., Name, Size etc. for the heel rebars over and under.

2. Define Cover thickness for the heel rebars over and under.
3. Set the length of the heel over rebar measured from the heel top.
4. Set the length of the heel under rebar measured from the heel bottom.

Heel left PSA tab (same as right side)

1. Select component and attribute file for the PSA.
