Use content from Tekla Warehouse

From Tekla Warehouse, you can insert content directly into a Tekla Structures model, or you can download files manually and install or import them to Tekla Structures.

Using content from Tekla Warehouse has these requirements:

  • To download content, you must sign in to Tekla Warehouse using your Trimble Identity.

  • To insert Tekla Warehouse content into a Tekla Structures model, the model must be open in Tekla Structures and the Tekla Warehouse Service plugin must be running on your computer. For more information, see About the Tekla Warehouse Service plugin.

  • To download content that requires Tekla maintenance (marked with , your company must have a valid subscription or maintenance agreement. For more information, contact your local Tekla Structures representative.

    Users who have a trial subscription or a Tekla Student subscription cannot download content that requires Tekla maintenance.

  • To use content from Tekla Structures collections, Tekla Structures must be installed.

    Tekla Structures collections contain official Tekla Structures content that you can use in your models. In Tekla Structures collections, the content is grouped by geographical area. There is also a global folder for content that is not location-specific.

How content is organized in Tekla Warehouse

  • Collections: In Tekla Warehouse, content is organized into collections. Collections group content items together and define whether the content is public or private.

  • Content items: Collections contain content items that are logical groups of content, such as product catalogs or model templates.

  • Versions: Content items can have one or more versions. Different versions of the same content work with different versions of Tekla Structures. You can select the version from the content page.

Types of content in Tekla Warehouse

Tekla Warehouse has these content groups.

Type of content Description
3D products 3D products are objects with fixed geometry, such as embeds, formwork, and accessories.
Custom components Custom components are Tekla Structures objects with fixed or parametric geometry.
Applications Applications use Tekla Open API to interact with Tekla Structures, such as data integration links into a design solution.
Profiles Catalogs contain lists of properties related to parts, such as different material grades and their densities.

Report templates Report templates define the content and layout of model data in a report. Model attribute files are filters that work when you add them to the model folder.
Drawing setup files Drawing setup files define how drawings are created, such as layouts, filters, and cloning templates.
Model setup files Files such as standard files and saved property files for model dialogs.
Environment files Environment files contain catalogs that have been customized for a specific region.
Model templates You can use model templates for similar, recurring projects. The template can contain all necessary catalogs, report templates, drawing setups, and advanced option settings.
