Create a collection in Tekla Warehouse
Collections group content together and help you manage the content items in Tekla Warehouse. To upload content to Tekla Warehouse, create a collection.
You can create collections as an individual or for a company account. Collections can be private or public.
Create a collection as an individual
- Sign in to Tekla Warehouse.
- At the top right corner of Tekla Warehouse, click Upload.
- Below the Create a new collection heading, click Create.
- To create the collection as an individual, select Myself.

Define the visibility of the
collection:
- Private: only you or your company account can view, search, modify, and download content in this collection.
- Public: anyone can view and search content in this collection. Only users who have signed in to Tekla Warehouse can download content from this collection.
- (Optional) To share private content with other users, enter user IDs, user email addresses, or company account IDs in the box below the Manage access to private content heading.
- Enter a name and description for the collection.
- Add a thumbnail for the collection.
- Click Save collection or, to add content to your collection and enter details, click Next.
Create a collection for a company account
To create a collection for a company account in Tekla Warehouse, you must belong to the account as an employee or an external license user, and have the Tekla Warehouse Content Editor role assigned to you.
Before you begin, create a Trimble Identity if you do not already have one. We recommend that you use your company email address for your Trimble Identity.
Ensure that your Trimble Identity is associated with the company account and that you have the Tekla Warehouse Content Editor role.
- Sign in to Tekla Warehouse.
- At the top right corner of Tekla Warehouse, click Upload.
- Below the Create a new collection heading, click Create.
- To create the collection for a company account, select Account.
- (Optional) If you have the Tekla Warehouse Content Editor role assigned to you in multiple accounts, select the account for which you want to create a collection from the list.

Define the visibility of the
collection:
- Private: only you or other members of your company account can view, search, modify, and download content in this collection.
- Public: anyone can view and search content in this collection. Only users that are signed in to Tekla Warehouse can download content from this collection.
- (Optional) To share private content with other users, enter user IDs, user email addresses, or company account IDs in the box below the Manage access to private content heading.
- Enter a name and description for the collection.
- Add a thumbnail for the collection.
- Click Save collection or, to add content to your collection and enter details, click Next.
