Tekla Structures support in IPv6 networks

Tekla Structures 2017 can be used in modern networks that use either IPv4, IPv6, or both protocols. The companies that only have IPv6 Internet Service Provider (ISP) addresses can now use Tekla Structures from version 2017 onwards.

Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) is a technology that helps to ensure that the Internet can support a growing user base and the increasingly large number of IP-enabled devices. Most devices and operating systems today have IPv6 installed as a software upgrade. IPv6 is usually supported in up-to-date hardware and operating systems, and it only needs activation or configuration.

IPv6 is an evolution of IPv4. It is possible to move from IPv4 to IPv6 without putting the current IPv4 infrastructure at risk.

Tekla Structures licence servers, multi-user servers, and Tekla Model Sharing servers, as well as network-attached storages, can all reside in a network that has both the IPv4 and IPv6 protocols enabled.
