Extra verification for signing in to Tekla products for enhanced security
If you sign in using only an email address and password, your sign-in process will change starting February 24, 2026. If you already use multi-factor authentication (MFA) or your company uses a single-sign-on (SSO) service that is federated with Trimble Identity, this change does not affect your sign-in process.
This change affects all Tekla products except Tekla PowerFab Go, which will make the change at a later date.
Key dates
2-step verification for all Trimble sign-ins will be required by March 31, 2026. Please note the following key dates for adoption in different products:
- February 2, 2026: Trimble Connect
- February 24, 2026: Tekla products except Tekla PowerFab Go
- March 31, 2026: 2-step verification is required for all Trimble sign-ins
Action required
If you are not able to access the primary email address for your Trimble Identity user account, you will not be able to sign in to your Tekla products and services. Check and update your email address in your Trimble Identity before the change takes effect. You will not be able to change your email address later.
If you have questions about your Trimble Identity or need assistance, please contact your support team.
What is changing and why
To enhance your account security, Trimble is introducing 2-step verification using one-time passcodes (OTP) for users who sign in using only an email address and a password.
OTPs are temporary single-use codes that verify your identity each time that you sign in. When you sign in to a Tekla product or service, you will be required to enter a verification code, which will be sent to the primary email address for your Trimble Identity user account. This extra verification step reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your data.
For more information about sign-in methods for securing your Trimble Identity account, see the Trimble Identity documentation in Trimble Help.
How the new sign-in process works
The new sign-in process will require you to enter a verification code when you sign in to a Tekla product or service. To sign in with 2-step verification:
- Enter your email address and password.
A verification code is sent to your email address. - Enter the verification code.
What if I want to use multi-factor authentication instead?
You can already set up MFA as an alternative to 2-step verification before February 24, 2026. We encourage users to enable MFA to increase the security of their Trimble Identity user account.
- Sign in to your Online Profile for Tekla products.
- In the My Trimble Identity area, click Edit.
- Navigate to the Security section.
- Follow the prompts to enable MFA.
For more information about MFA for Trimble Identity, see the Trimble Identity documentation in Trimble Help.
