When looking at the Server Status in the Tekla Structural License Server Manager, why does the number of In Use licenses not match the number of Users using the program? There always seems to be more User records than Licenses In Use.

Answer

The license model used is per host machine so you may run the application on a single host PC any number of times without it using up an additional licenses. The Users list shows the number of seperate uses of the license, which if the host is the same will only count as a single license In Use. For example if you have two users on two machines, namely host1 & host2 and the user on host1, launched 2 separate instances of Tekla Structural Designer the number of Users listed would be 3, but with 2 unique hosts, resulting in  the number of Licenses In Use being 2.
