Why do I get a Validation Warning: Discontinuous member supported by unmeshed slab?

By default a slab is replaced with a diaphragm in the 3D Building analysis (First-Order linear analysis). This means that columns or walls etc. intended to be supported by the slab are unsupported.

You can opt to mesh 2-way Slabs in the 3D Building Analysis (First-Order linear analysis) which then includes the slab stiffness in the Building Analysis. You can do this for every level or on a level by level basis.

This is controlled via the Project Workspace > Structure pane > Levels branch.

Either:
1. Select the Levels branch and check the option 'Mesh 2-way Slabs in the 3D Analysis' to mesh all slabs
2. Select the individual level sub branch i.e. St. Base (Base) in the screenshot below and check the option 'Mesh 2-way Slabs in the 3D Analysis' to mesh just this level.
