Why am I unable to change the Overall depth property of a Precast slab?

Problem

The overall depth is greyed out. How do I amend it to specify the thickness of the precast deck I want to use?

The program will not allow you to set the depth of the precast deck using the overall depth property, you will see that this is greyed out for precast planks.

Resolution

You will need to define the Decking properties > Manufacturer and Reference. You will then be able to set the Gauge.

If required, you can also define a Topping. The Overall depth is then automatically calculated as the gauge depth and topping depth.

Note: There are only a few default Precast concrete planks available, however, you can manually add your own via the Home ribbon > Materials > Decking > Precast Concrete Planks dialog as shown below.
