Question
When I try to use the User Interface command, the Manage User Interfaces dialog appears, but clicking any button appears to freeze the program. How can I resolve this?
Answer
To allow us to rectify the issue we need to stop the Tedds Interface Designer process.
Run Task Manager (right click the Windows taskbar and select Task Manager). In the Processes tab, Locate Tedds Interface Designer (32bit), select it and then click End task.
We have discovered that there is a conflict between the Tedds Interface Designer and the Revit Accelerator process.
To resolve, we need to select the Revit Accelerator process and End Task.
Note that once the PC is rebooted, the process will be running again so the issue will return. To resolve permanently, switch to the Startup tab of the Task Manager, locate the Revit Accelerator and Disable so that it is not started upon Windows startup.
After ending the process and disabling startup of the Revit Accelerator, if you attempt to run the User Interface command and one of the Manager User Interfaces buttons, the Interface Designer will appear as expected.
