What to consider when managing Tekla Structures licenses?

Follow these instructions carefully when managing Tekla Structures licenses:
  • The IT personnel in your company should do the FlexNet installation and make it available to draftsmen, detailers, and engineers.
  • It is recommended to install the FlexNet license server on a server computer that performs well and is regularly maintained. You should also activate your licenses on that same computer for better management.
  • Never activate more than one license on a device that is not going to be used within a network.
  • Make a backup copy of the activated licenses in the case the server or computer malfunctions.
  • Do not deactivate and activate the licenses repeatedly because if you do so your licenses will be blocked.
  • Do not change the time on the computer after the licenses are activated on it. Doing so will block the license.
  • You need to deactivate all activated licenses in the following cases:
    • Before you apply any maintenance action on your server computer.
    • Before you upgrade the operating system on your server computer.
    • Before you reinstall the operating system on your server computer.
    • Before you change any hardware on your server computer.
