What is wrong when Tekla Structures does not show any texts at all in the login dialog and menus?

We have identified two software so far, which could cause the problem on some x64 machines / applications:

1.  Adobe 3D Capture (x64), which is a part of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (acaptuser64.dll)
2.  Mozilla 3 Virtual Keyboard, part of Kaspersky Internet Security 2009-11 (mzvkbd3.dll)

These applications are known to use a special mechanism to hook into other applications during the application startup. Microsoft strongly discourages the use of this method: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/197571. This mechanism conflicts with the user interface libraries used by Tekla Structures, causing the missing texts.

To find out what is the problematic software in your case, download Autoruns software from here: http://technet.microsoft.com/fi-fi/sysinternals/bb963902 

Start Autoruns, go to the AppInit tab and send us a snapshot from that tab. The resolution is most likely un-checking the dll (see the picture, red circle) but before this, we are very interested to see what is in that tab originally, so send it to support mail id.

Note that this registry key is widely used by malware applications, so a good recommendation would be to remove (or at least uncheck) all values shown there, unless you really know what they do and need them.

In case of Adobe 3D Capture (x64), uninstalling Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and/or re-installing it without Adobe 3D Capture (x64) could be one solution.

Disabling the Mozilla 3 Virtual Keyboard hook is safe, since it's only a virtual keyboard, which can be used to protect passwords you write to web pages (if you fear that someone could have installed a key logger to your computer), and doesn't affect the actual virus / malware protection

In each case this problem occurs, please inform Tekla Structures support by sending an email.
