We note that Tekla Structural Designer Service Pack 1 (17.0.1.41) has added a new Rationalize command. What does it do?Image

Example
From the two screenshots below;- Is an unused construction line
- Is an unused gridline
- Are three gridlines that are longer than necessary
- Is a frame that exists on an unused gridline and hence the frame is not being utilised.

By running the Edit ribbon tab > Rationalize command you can remove some of these unused items and tidy up the arrangement of grid lines/constructions lines, planes and frames.

Remove unused with allow you to selectively remove
- Planes or Frames
- Grid lines
- Construction lines
If the option is checked.
Update
- Will shrink or extend grid and construction lines to provide a little more consistency in the model
If the option is checked.

If all the items are checked in the Rationalize dialog and you click OK to run the command, then 1,2 and 4 will be deleted and 3 will be shortened (shrunk).

After running this a summary of the changes made are listed in the Process Window.
