What are the size limits of certain input fields in Tekla PowerFab?

In some of the modules there are size limits to the number of alpha/numeric characters that can be entered.  The most common fields that we get inquiries on the following:

Combining module
Reference # - 255 characters (can be alpha/numeric in content)
Mark # - up to 25 characters, depending on the mark input type

Production Control module
Main mark # - up to 25 characters, depending on the mark input type
Piece mark # - up to 25 characters, depending on the mark input type
Reference # - 255 characters (can be alpha/numeric in content)

Project Management module
Drawing # - up to 25 characters, depending on the mark input type
Description field - 255 characters

We suggest that you use the following when settings , the marks and drawing numbers are best with input type #13-Any Input- Logical Sort.  That gives the maximum amount of flexibility and also allows up to 25 characters.  The number of characters allowed can be less for these types with a different option.  For example, the "# Char #" type only allows up to 15 characters (1-5 digits, followed by 1-5 characters, followed by 1-5 digits).  The input type #13-Any Input- Logical Sort is almost always the best choice.

So for future jobs, for example, you would go to Maintenance->Production Control->Company Standards->Input Setting tab and set Main Mark Input Type, Piece Mark Input Type, Drawing Number Input Type, and Sequence Type to 13 - Any Input - Logical Sort.  Do the same for the other modules.  For existing jobs you would have to go into each job and click on the Edit (F4) button and open the Job Edit window and click on the Input Settings tab and set them the same way.
