Was BIMSight removed from 2019?
Question -
Was BIMSight removed from Version 2019? It is no longer in the Export options under File > Export.
Answer -
Yes, BIMSight was removed in 2019 as it is being phased out and replaced with Trimble Connect Desktop. You can still use BIMSight by exporting an IFC directly from Tekla (File > Export > IFC) if you need but we recommend transitioning to Trimble Connect for Desktop in the near future.
You can get Trimble Connect for Desktop from the Trimble Connect App Store found here Please note, you must create a Trimble Identity in order to access this site. You can create one for free and information on the process can be found here. If you want to try the cloud version you can sign up for a Free account here Limits on the free account are also listed on that page.
For offline access, Trimble Connect for Desktop has an offline feature that you can use if not connected to the internet. If you don't have an internet connection and you open Trimble Connect for Desktop it will prompt you to open in "Offline Mode". This will work in the same way the online version does just without the ability to upload or retrieve information from the cloud. Please note that using the Cloud version also requires a license of Trimble Connect but the offline version (simliar to BIMSight) does not require a license.
