Question:
How is numbering tolerance used?
Answer:
Numbering tolerance compares part solid vertexes, not actual part lengths. The part with the smallest ID number (the part modeled first) is used as the basis of comparison. Other parts of the same material are compared to this part.
In the numbering settings, tolerances are given by material. The materials are the same as in the material catalog: Steel, Concrete, Reinforcing bar. All other materials (Timber, Miscellaneous) use the Other tolerance setting. Steel fittings use the steel numbering tolerance.
For bolts, the tolerance comparison is using the Steel tolerance, and it gives the distance between the part edge and bolts; not between the bolts. See the attached picture.
