Solution

The Tedds beam analysis calculation uses a powerful analysis engine but requires you to set up the model using the span that you want to use as the effective length.

You should enter the effective length (L + Lb/2 ) in the geometry page, to comply with BS5268-1:2002 cl 2.10.3.
