Tekla PowerFab has upgraded Trimble Identity (TID), the sign-in functionality used for fast and secure access to Trimble software products, to Trimble Identity v4. The new Trimble Identity upgrade includes significant security and user experience features designed to protect your company's data, while also providing a more seamless user experience, including:

TIDv4 Sign In
  • Two-factor authentication, which provides a second layer of security to protect your company's information from malicious threats
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) so you only need to sign-in once for access to all Trimble applications

TIDv4 Password
  • Social sign-in with Google and Apple provides a simplified, quick and easy registration and login
  • The ability to easily change the email address associated with your Trimble ID account

  • If the user’s organization has set up the use of SSO with Trimble then the user would be prompted with the dialog box for entering the SSO login username and password.

Because this update to Trimble Identity v4 is used for Tekla PowerFab licensing, you will need to update Tekla PowerFab on your server and clients to one of the following releases by August 29th for licenses to continue to be available:

  • Any 2021 general version (not a beta)
  • 2020i SP3 or later
  • 2020 SP4 or later
  • 2019i SP6 or later

These releases can be downloaded here.

Trimble Identity version 4 is active now. Once you are in a Trimble Identity v4 compatible release, you will need to log out of Trimble Identity in your Remote Monitor and log in again with Trimble Identity v4 sometime by the August 29 deadline for continuous remote functionality (Tekla PowerFab Go, automated events, and some integrations).

To do this, open Tekla PowerFab Remote Monitor on your Tekla PowerFab Server. Click the "Settings" button.

Under "Trimble Identity:" click "Sign out"; once signed out, click "Sign in". Make sure to click the Save Settings button when you are completed the sign in.
