Wait for SimTrans to Run.

Work orders sent from Tekla PowerFab will not be available in SigmaNest until SimTrans has run.

Process Nest in SigmaNest

Import the Work Order from SimTrans to make it available in SigmaNest.

1. Create Tasks and nest as usual.

2. If the material for this nest is already in the shop, and you're ready to cut, do either of the following:

  • Post the nest (and update the Program if desired) in SigmaNest, then import cutting results to Tekla PowerFab.
  • Or, if using the Tekla PowerFab Plugin in SigmaNest, Post, then Program Update. This completes the cut and performs the take from stock.

If however, this nest will be used for Tekla PowerFab to order material, continue here:

If the Tekla PowerFab Feedback plugin in SigmaNest is configure to "Do Tekla PowerFab SaveNest on Post", run the Post process on the nest. This will update the combining run in Tekla PowerFab, and reserve inventory or create a requisition if needed.

With this workflow, the combining run is updated automatically. If all parts were successfully nested, the Combining Run Results window will be empty when re-opened:

To view the nest, double-click the inventory item or requisition item:

If you're not sure where it is, select one of the parts in the production job and click the "Links" button. This will bring up links to Inventory items, requisitions and/or cut lists where that part exists.

The top left of the Nest window shows the External Nest ID, and the software creating this nest, followed by a list of all the parts on this nest. The middle shows the SigmaNest image of the Nest, and tabs across the top show each remnant and each part in the nest.

Note: Parts for which there is no CNC file do not have tabs.
