Question: I noticed that (concrete) slabs in my model had turned into profiles. When I opened the slab properties and tried to change the slab thickness I got an error message saying that "The profile is not in your profile catalog. Select a new profile." What's wrong?

Answer: This behaviour is caused by a profile catalog with profile names containing only numbers, such as "800", "1000" etc. Even though slabs (or contour plates) normally don't accept profiles as input, in this particular case they did. This is because "thickness" is the counterpart of "profile" for slabs and contour plates and Tekla Structures reads the input from either field depending on the tool.

To work around this issue, you need to change the profile names in your profile catalog to something other than just plain numbers. After this re-open the model and check that everything looks normal. You should now be able to change the slab thickness again as well. It might be a good idea to run the diagnose&repair commands too.
