Question:
Can I add a label within my model that shows the cost of certain parts, such as hollow core for example?

Answer:
Yes, you can use the Design-to-cost tool which is available for download on Tekla Warehouse. 

With this tool, you can also compare the expenses if you want to find the most economical solution for your project.

The following example will demonstrate how to show the cost in a model label.

Example

Download and install Design-to-cost tool

  1. From Tekla Warehouse, download the Design-to-cost tool 
  2. From Applications & components pane, select Access advanced features > Manage extensions > Extension manager  
 
The Tekla Structures extension manager dialog opens.
  1. Import the DesignToCost.tsep file
 

Show cost in model label

  1. From Applications & components pane, search for Design-to-cost
  2. Double-click Design-to-cost tool
 
The Design-to-cost dialog opens.

  1. Click Cost categories
 
The Design-to-cost definitions dialog opens. Here you can see EXAMPLE Cost elements, you can update these to suit your company preferences. For this example we will use the example costs provided.

  1. Close the Design-to-cost definitions dialog
  2. From Design-to-cost dialog, click Show cost in model label
