Shop Data Systems PeddiNest Extension for Tekla PowerFab - Step 3 Nesting
Once a work order has been sent from PowerFab, it can be received and processed in MRP Exchange Manager.
If you select Process Job, the new job is opened immediately.
If you select Receive-Don’t Process, MRPExchange is populated and you can initiate a new job later by selecting Release to ShopData in the MRPExchange module.
Make any adjustments you need to in the Part Selector dialog, then click Continue.
Name and save the job.
This brings in your parts to nest, as well as a plate list to select from.
Stock Inventory Type is available in Tekla PowerFab inventory, based on your filters in the Combining Run. JIT (Just In Time) Inventory Type is orderable, available from the Supplier selected in Tekla PowerFab. If one of the latter is chosen (or if a custom plate size is used), a Requisition is created in Tekla PowerFab so those items can be ordered.
There is also a Refresh Inventory option that updates the list if anything has been consumed since the work order was sent.
After you generate the nest, closing the nest window will update Tekla PowerFab, either reserving inventory or creating a requisition.
In the next step, we'll look at the results in Tekla PowerFab's Production Control, Inventory and Requisitions. See Shop Data Systems PeddiNest Extension for Tekla PowerFab - Step 4 Nest Results in PowerFab.
