Question:
I found the Shearplate to Hip (8) component might work for my purpose but I couldn’t get purlin bolts to connect purlin cleats correctly. Do you think if it is possible to make the purlin bolts penetrate the purlin cleat from inside the component?

Answer:
The majority of cold rolled components are designed to work in the UK environment only and there are difficulties in other environments. In this case the cleat does not belong to the bolted parts.
But there is a better component which bolts the cleats properly to the purlins. That component is inside the cold_rolled application. All components inside that application are originally designed to be used in all environments, not just in the UK. It is Shear plate to hip (6). It also has a newer user interface, so it is easier to use.
