Setting up multiple instances of Tekla Structures Multiuser Server

It is not possible to install multiple instances of the Tekla Structures Multiuser Server using the installation package. If you install Tekla Structures Multiuser Server v2.301s and then run the installer again, you only have the Modify, Repair, and Remove options available. To solve this, we created a batch file that creates multiple instances of Tekla Structures Multiuser Server v2.301s running on the same computer. All you need to do is run the script as administrator and follow the on-screen instructions.
Tekla Structures Multiuser Server v2.301s includes two script files which are located in the installation folder (by default, C:\Program Files (x86)\Tekla Structures Multiuser Server for 64-bit OS or C:\Program Files\Tekla Structures Multiuser Server for 32-bit OS):

MUSaaS_Install.cmd - creates a new instance of Tekla Structures Multiuser Server;
MUSaaS_Uninstall.cmd - deletes an instance created by MUSaaS_Install.cmd.

To create a new instance of Tekla Structures Multiuser Server, run the MUSaaS_Install.cmd script as administrator:

With the MUSaaS_Install.cmd you can:

Define an identifier for a new instance of Tekla Structures Multiuser Server (by default, “2”).
Define a port number for a new instance (by default, “1239”).

After running the script you will have:

A new folder, Tekla Structures Multiuser Server <identifier>, on the root of your system drive. The folder contains all files required for the new copy of Tekla Structures Multiuser Server service to run properly, and script files.
A new service, Tekla Structures Multiuser Server <identifier>, in Windows Services.
- Tekla Structures Multiuser Server <identifier> service is started and it uses the port you defined.
A log file, xs_server_<identifier>.log, located in the same folder as your main Tekla Structures Multiuser Server v2.301s log file. By default, it is C:\ProgramData\TeklaStructuresServer.

You can create as many new instances of Tekla Structures Multiuser Server as you want.

To delete an instance of Tekla Structures Multiuser Server, run the MUSaaS_Uninstall.cmd script as administrator:

Note: Make sure that computers running Tekla Structures can access the port you defined earlier (by default, TCP port 1239). For example, create a firewall rule that allows incoming communications on TCP port 1239 on the computer where the new Tekla Structures Multiuser Server instance is running.

When using the new Tekla Structures Multiuser Server address in Tekla Structures, type the address in format server_hostname,port
where server_hostname is computer name (or, alternatively, IPv4 address) of the computer where the Tekla Structures Multiuser Server is running on, port - the TCP port you defined earlier.

For example, if your new Tekla Structures Multiuser Server instance is running on a computer whose name is my_company_server and the TCP port is set to 1239 then you should use the following Tekla Structures Multiuser Server address in Tekla Structures:
