We have found the following problem in the Tekla Structures service pack installation if user has not signed out from Tekla Structures before installing the new service pack. The affected versions and service packs are:

  • 2020 SP9
  • 2019i SP10
  • 2019 SP12

After upgrading to the latest service pack and running it, the following error message appears: “No licenses available. Your license may have expired or there are no licenses associated with your account…” or the configuration selection dialog box shows another license instead of the one available previously.

Reason:

The online license cached locally by the previous service pack cannot be read properly by the latest service pack due to the technical changes in the latest service pack.

Solution:

There are two optional ways to solve this problem:

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling;
    1. Uninstall the latest service pack (e.g. 2020 SP9)
    2. Install the previous service pack (e.g. 2020 SP8)
    3. Open any model
    4. Clear the Stay signed in option (click the "green person" icon in the top-right corner)
    5. Close Tekla Structures
    6. Upgrade to the latest Tekla Structures service pack (e.g. 2020 SP9)
  • Contacting your local support and ask for your license to be released. You will need to provide your Tekla Online account email address.
