Question:
We have a question about NC creation with a square tube including a concave cut on the front and back side. The square tube has a different cut at the back side between the NC viewer result and the Tekla Structures model. Is it a defect or something else?
Answer:
This is a Tekla Structures interpretion of how the radius value should be written in DSTV format, and it happens because Tekla Structures uses a negative radius value on the top (o) and/or back (h) faces on the AK block. In this case the problem is only at the back side (h):
So the value -109.55 should be positive 109.55 to be able to show the concave radius on the back side correctly in the NC viewer. Some NC vendors (Peddimat, Controlled Automation) have actually already addressed this in their viewers: they have a special Tekla option to change the incorrect radius value. But for example the HGG DSTV viewer shows these kind of parts incorrectly.
In versions starting from 19.0 SR 6, 19.1 SR4, 20.0 SR 4, 20.1 and 21.0 we have two new advanced options to fix this:

- XS_DSTV_CHANGE_AK_BLOCK_RADIUS_SIGN
- XS_DSTV_CHANGE_IK_BLOCK_RADIUS_SIGN
In version 21.1 these advanced options are added to NC File Settings dialog box, to the Advanced Options tab:
