Question:
Where are the Model Organizer property sets stored?

Answer:
Model Organizer categories have property sets linked to them. If a user customizes the property set of a category, a new file is created to store the new set.

In Tekla Structures version 17.0 and later, when you open Model Organizer, the files containing the default property sets are created automatically.
  • In 18.1 and earlier Tekla Structures versions the files containing the property sets are in the model folder.
  • In Tekla Structures 19.0 these files are in the ..\TeklaStructuresModels\model folder\ModelOrganizer folder.
In Tekla Structures 19.0, when you open a model that was created in an earlier Tekla Structures version, and you open Model Organizer, the files containing the property sets are automatically moved from the model folder to the ..\TeklaStructuresModels\model folder\ModelOrganizer folder. These files will stay in the new location even if you do not save the model in Tekla Structures 19.0. If you want to use Model Organizer again with the customized property sets that you created earlier in the previous version,  you need to move the customized property set files from the ..\TeklaStructuresModels\model folder\ModelOrganizer folder to the model folder.

If you do not open Model Organizer in Tekla Structures 19.0, the files are not moved, so you can use them in the earlier version as before.
