Is it possible to create a correct report without numbering the parts?

Tekla Structures - Not version-specific Report without numbering
Environment
Not environment-specific

Question:
I am working with Engineering license (configuration), and for 99% it is just perfect for my duties as I am an estimating engineer, and no detailing is necessary for me.

But, when it is necessary to create reports for material quantities, not being able to do numbering process on all the parts makes it impossible. Is there any workaround to this issue?

Maybe there is an option in report file programming that I can adjust to make it work correctly?

Answer:
In order to create reports for material quantity estimation it is possible to use report templates that do not require numbering. It is also possible to create a custom template that suits your needs and requirements.

All the default report templates are stored here:
C:\ProgramData\Tekla Structures\<version>\Environments\<environment>\system\<type>

You can edit these templates (*.rpt) in Template Editor 3.3, which is installed together with Tekla Structures.

Template Editor can be launched from Drawings & Reports -> Template Editor, or as standalone program. Model-specific templates can be stored in the model folder.

In this case, one template you could use is Material_list.rpt from the Australasia environment. If you use this template, Tekla Structures will not display the warning “The position numbers in the created report are not up to date”, because this report template does not contain value fields that require this information. This warning is only displayed when the part position, assembly position or any other value field that requires numbering is in the report template.
