Question No.1:

If I add a paper size with the same dimensions in the PaperSizesForDrawings.dat file just using a different name, then it is not available in the Paper size drop-down list in the Print Drawings dialog. If I disable the default paper size in the .dat file, then the added paper size becomes available. Why is that? How does Tekla Structures define which paper size name is used?

Answer No.1:

Tekla Structures goes through each item paper size supplied by the printer driver. It checks if there is an entry with the same size in PaperSizesForDrawings.dat and includes this size in the drop-down list, using the name from PaperSizesForDrawings.dat rather than the name supplied by the printer driver. If there are multiple entries with the same size, it picks the first one.

If the drop-down list already contains the paper size and the printer driver supplies multiple paper sizes with the same size, it will skip the ones after the first, to avoid duplicates.

NOTE: Only sizes that are supported by the actual printer driver will be shown in the PaperSizesForDrawings.dat as available. The complete list of the sizes can be viewed when choosing PDF file instead of Printer.

Question No.2:

In which order is this drop-down list of the available paper sizes sorted? By paper size or name?

Answer No.2:

The order of the paper sizes in the drop-down list is the same order in which the paper sizes are supplied by the printer driver.
