Question:
Is it possible to show the root radius of objects in a model?
Answer:
There are two ways to show the root radius of objects in a model.
- Models profiles more accurately.
- Gives more accurate weights (includes true radius material).
- Shows exact profile shaped in model.
Disadvantages
- Can affect existing modelling cuts, connections.
- Some bolt connections are not calculated correctly.
- Can affect drawings.
Please note: If you require this setting to apply to all models then this option should preferably be set up when you start using a new version, so all models utilise the same setting . It’s not advisable to use this option when part way through a model or once you have created a number of models within a version to which the settings have not been previously applied.
Click the Open model folder icon and navigate to your models options.ini file.
With the options.ini file open, close down your Tekla Structures software completely.
Set the following variable in the options.ini XS_SOLID_USE_HIGHER_ACCURACY=TRUE
Save and Close the .ini file.
Re-open your model. The root radius can now be seen.
To deactivate Option 1 open the options.ini file, close down your Tekla Structures software completely.
Delete the following variable in the options.ini XS_SOLID_USE_HIGHER_ACCURACY=TRUE
Save and Close the .ini file. When you re-open your model the original default view will apply, Save your model changes.

Select the objects in the model you want to apply the changes to. With the objects selected right click your mouse.
While holding down the Shift Key click Show with Exact Lines.
To deactivate Option 2 select the objects in the model you want to apply the changes to, right click and select Show with Exact Lines (do not hold down the Shift Key this time).
