How to set model with color representation as object status
This topic handles steps for how you can set the model with different object colors depending on different status information.
Let us take example of below model where user wants to set model with object color as per below status.
Approval - Yellow
Fabrication - Green
Hold - Red
Not Submitted yet - Gray
Set object status in the uda of a member. e.g. below status information is added in comment UDA. You can use any other UDA as well.
Status information for two columns on right hand side is set as Hold
Status information for two columns in the middle is set as Approval
And status information for two columns on left hand side is set as Fabrication
Now create three filters as per below details to set up color representation later.
If you use different uda than comment then modify your filters accordingly. Save filters with the names as shown below.
Approval filter to indentify objects havving Approval status.
Use >> double arrows expand filter window to select Filter types as View filter and Object representation
Fabrication filter to indentify objects havving Fabrication status.
Hold filter to indentify objects havving Hold status.
Here no need to create seperate filter for members with status Not submitted yet as all the rest of object not having one of above 3 status information will be considered as Not submitted yet.
(Note: You can create many such filters depending on your workflow status options.)
Now double click your view to open view properties and click on Representation button to open representation settings dialog.
Now in Object Representation dialog create settings as below and save settings with name e.g. MyStatus . All row should be last as shown below.
Here in object group column, filters are selected which are created in last step ans corresponding required color is used.
You can click on Add row button to add multiple rows.
Now in your model view properties dialog you can load above created settings and click on modify button to apply these settings.
Model member colors are set as per desired settings.
Now anytime these settings can be used to visually see the status of the model members.
