How to create Plate Girder or plated beam with Camber?

Please follow below steps to create a plate girder with camber.
Step 1. – Open elevation view where you want to create a plate girder.

Step 2. – Use polybeam command to generate a 3 point polybeam by selecting Start point, mid-point (center) & Endpoint of beam.

Step 3. – Now select center handle point of beam by pressing alt key on key board. & use move linear command by right clicking. Move center handle point vertically by the value of camber required.

Step 4. – Double click center handle point of beam to open Chamfer properties of beam and select curve chamfer from list & click modify.

Step 5. – Now modify profile of beam to parametric profile e.g. HI section required for plate girder.

Step 6. – Apply connections and details (cuts/welds) to beam as required.

Step 7. – Now use Plates from built-up tool to convert Beam to a plate girder.

This will retain camber and all details and end connections as well and convert profile to individual plates as a plate girder.
