How to create back up of activated on-premises licenses (Trusted storage backup)

After activating your on-premises Tekla Structures license(s), it might be a good idea to do a backup. It can be useful in case if you licenses get lost (this may happen for example due to hardware failure or if your license server machine gets formatted without deactivating licenses).
Tekla uses Trusted Storage to store all licenses. Trusted storage is a secure location that is locked to the machine on which it is located using a combination of machine identities. The contents of Trusted storage are encrypted and can only be accessed by FlexEnabled components.
Physically Trusted storage is located by default in the %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\FLEXnet folder (which is in most cases C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet) and consists of the following files:
- tekla_00614900_tsf.data
- tekla_00614900_tsf.data_backup.001
- tekla_80614900_tsf.data
- tekla_80614900_tsf.data_backup.001
To back up your licenses simply copy those files to secure location (for example an external drive). In case of lost licenses you can contact Tekla Structures support and your backup can be used to quickly resolve the issue. Your support person will guide you on what to do next.
