How to create a Foundation reaction report drawing?
This FAQ describes how to create a Foundation Report drawing.
- (Note if you wish to create a tabular report of Foundation reactions (for columns and/ or walls) see Example Reports > Foundations reactions report section)
The drawing can be produced for any of the following:
- Selected Load Case
- Selected Load Combination
- Selected Load Envelope (of combinations)
1. Open a Base Scene view and ensure it is active
On the Project Workspace Structure pane (1), expand Levels and double click on or right click on the Base level and select Open View from the context menu.
2. Select the Load Case, Combination or Envelope from the drop list on the status bar
We recommend you activate the Results view, then select the Load Case/ Combination or Envelope you want the results for to check you have the intended results selected - see Display reactions.
3. Set the Options required for the Foundation Drawing
From the DRAW ribbon open Settings then expand the settings tree and select Drawings > Options> Planar Drawings > Foundation Reactions as shown in the picture below then make the settings you want for the options
- On the General page:
- Set Strength or Service factors (applicable to Combinations and Envelopes)
- Set All, None or Only > (your preferred value) for Moment and Shear
- Review the settings for the other tabs for entity labelling etc
- OK these settings
4. Create the Drawing
From the DRAW ribbon select the Foundation Reaction command to create the drawing with the selected reaction Values.
Set the Output requirements, Layer configuration, style, scale and minimum text block spacing then OK - the drawing DXF file will be created.
If you have program installed associated with DXF files it should launch with the drawing open.
