Question

How do I reduce the amount of information shown in my report?

Answer

Report content can be tailored to suit your requirements. Some predefined reports already exist within the software but these can be further customised with the use of Filters.

Filters are available to control
  • Model
  • Analysis
  • Loading
  • Style

Each filter allows further refinement. For example, the Model filter allows you to control what is included via Levels, Sub-structures, Frames, Members etc.

Note. Different Report topics will only offer some of these filters.

Model Report

To control which items are included in the report, go to the Report ribbon tab > Model Report... command.

Model Report... allows you to define the Report Structure (content) by dragging items from the Chapters and Options to the Report Structure area of the dialog.

Creating/Editing Reports

To create a new report, click Add under the available styles window (1) and type an appropriate name (2), or to edit an existing report, select as appropriate from the list of available Styles (3).

Once the Report is selected, from the Chapters and Options area, drag the items you want to include in the report to the Report Structure area of the dialog.

You can then right click the item(s) and apply a Filter to further refine the items to be reported.

Filtering

Filtering the Report Structure allows you to define the items you want in the report. For example under the Model filter you could select from Levels, Frames, Planes or Sub structures. Similarly, the loading filter allows you to display selected loadcases, combinations or envelopes.

You can right click the item(s) in the Report Structure to apply a Filter.

The Add command allows you to define the available Filters.

Note that only one filter can be applied at a time for each type - Model, Analysis, Loading, Style.
