How do I make my slab reinforcement run parallel to angled beams or slab edges?

To change the angle at which the reinforcement runs in a slab, you need to adjust the Rotation Angle property of the slab panel. By default, all slabs will have a rotation angle of 0 degrees, as shown below. This means the X direction reinforcement for this slab panel will run horizontally, from left to right, when viewing a 2D plan view. The Y direction reinforcement will always be perpendicular to the X direction reinforcement.

Increasing the slab’s Rotation Angle (i.e. specifying a positive angle) will rotate the X direction reinforcement anticlockwise, whereas a negative angle will rotate it clockwise.
For example, the gridlines in the screen shot below have been rotated 45 degrees, with gridline 7 running at +45 degrees and gridline A running at -45 degrees.

This means the concrete beams running along these gridlines are also at 45 degrees to the horizontal. To get the reinforcement in the slab to run parallel (and perpendicular) to the beams on these gridlines, the slab Rotation Angle also needs to be set to 45 degrees, as shown below.
