How do I know what version of Tekla Structural Designer I am running and whether I have service packs applied?

How to find out what version you are running

If you click the information button in the top right you will see a splash screen which contains the version number, then you just need to be able to interpret it, see below
 

 

For versions 2021 and newer

How to interpret the version number in the program or via Programs and Features

The version displayed on the information dialog is not the Tekla Structural Designer marketed version but the software version which is much more granular and gives you a lot more information, for example 

From the screen shot above we can see that the software version is

22.3.1.0

  • First number - main release number (e.g. 22 corresponding to 2022)
  • Second number - service pack number (e.g. 3 corresponding to service pack 3 being applied)
  • Third number - service pack release number (e.g. 0 is the initial release & 1 is a subsequent release)
  • Fourth number - build number (e.g. 0 corresponds to the internal build of the software and is generally not relevant)

For versions prior to version 2021

  • Third number - service pack number (e.g. 6 corresponding to service pack 6 being applied)
  • Fourth number - build number (e.g. 30 corresponds to the internal build of the software and is generally not relevant)

 

How to interpret the version number in Programs and Features

The version displayed in Programs and Features is the same as that displayed on the information dialog just in a slightly different format

20.00.6030

  • First number - main release number (e.g. 20 corresponding to 2020)
  • Second number - interim release number - (e.g. 00 or 01 corresponding to 2020 or 2020i respectively)
  • Third number - first digit - service pack number (e.g. 6 corresponding to service pack 6 being applied)
  • Third number - last two digits - build number (e.g. 30 corresponds to the internal build of the software and is generally not relevant)
