How do I correct unit/dimension mismatch problems?
Tedds automatically checks the units of an expression against the output/result units and if they do not match it will not run the expression. This highlights a potential error in the expression which needs to be addressed and it is good practice to ensure the expression and result units match. However, there are a number of enigneering codes that contain equations where the units do not match and there are two solutions that can be used.
Solution 1
If there is a constant in the equation, apply the required dimensions to this constant which allows the expression and result units to match.
Solution 2
Multiply the entire expression by a variable which has a value of unity and the dimensions required to allow the expression and result units to match.
In both cases the required amendment can be hidden from the output by using the hidden text format.
