Question:
Is it possible to hide the purple associativity symbols in drawings?

Answer:
You can hide the symbols with keyboard shortcut Shift + A. Press Shift + A again to make the symbols visible.
The switch is also available in the File menu Settings > Switches > Associativity symbol, in drawing mode, when you have drawing open.
