Server Setup

  1. Download Tekla Structures Multi-User Server installation package from Tekla Downloads for version 2020 and under the All Downloads section.

  2. Install the Tekla Structures Multi-User Server on a server or machine that acts as a server. This machine will host the Tekla Structures Multiuser Server service. This machine must always be on and have the Tekla Structures Multiuser Server service running for Multi-user models to function correctly. We recommend a company server, so that it is available anytime for users to use.
  3. After successful installation of Tekla Structures Multiuser Server, you should be able to see the service listed under Windows Services.

Troubleshooting

If the user couldn’t connect to the multiuser server then the connection maybe blocked by the windows firewall or antivirus. Do the following:

  1. Add the program xs_server.exe that is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Tekla Structures Multi user to all firewalls and antivirus exception lists,  and also to the exception list of the antivirus.
  2. Add the TCP/IP port number: 1238 to Windows firewall >> Inbound rules.
