When viewing a solver view in elevation of a flat slab model in Tekla Structural Designer, it may appear that there is a lack of connectivity between the columns and the slab:

This may not be the case however, the view settings in the Solver 3D view show the slab diaphragm as a default. The diaphragm is shown vertically offset from the underlying slab so that it can be easily differentiated from the physical slab panels and this is what can be seen here.
As a general rule, model connectivity should be double checked with a visual inspection of the Structural 3D View and by using the model validation tool - not by checking the Solver view by isolation.
