Exporting and importing sketched profiles

Question:
I created a sketched profile which appears in the profile catalog. Then I exported the profile catalog, but when importing into a new model, I do not get the sketched profile. Why is it happening?

Answer:
Sketched profiles need to be individually exported and imported in the Profile catalog.

To export:
1. Open the Profile Catalog.
2. Locate your sketched profile and right-click the profile and click Export profile. A *.uel file will be created. (The whole profile catalog can be exported by clicking Export... in the Profile Catalog dialog)

Similarly, when importing:
1. Open Profile Catalog and click Import...
2. For sketched profiles the file extension is *.uel, so locate the necessary file.

If the whole profile catalog is exported, there are separate files created for each profile type. See Importing and exporting profiles for more information.

Please note that starting from Tekla Structures version 21.1, sketched profiles are no longer available in Applications and Components from side pane.
