Users can import Excel spreadsheets into the following modules and areas of the program. The Excel import templates are attached to this page for downloading.

  • Address Book: Firms and Clients
  • Combining (CMB)
  • Estimating (EST)
  • Inventory (INV)
  • Production Control (PDC)
  • Purchasing (PUR): Purchase Orders (PO) and Requisitions
  • Time Tracking

Tip:

The product guide Import files to Tekla PowerFab contains more information on additional import file types and step-by-step directions. 

The order of the columns can be changed, but the column headers need to remain exactly as they are written. For the various imports, not all columns are required, but Estimating and Production Control do have some required columns. Those are:

Required Columns for Estimating (EST) Excel Imports

  • Quantity
  • Shape
  • Dimensions
  • Length
  • Grade

Required Columns for Production Control (PDC) Excel Imports

  • Drawing #
  • Main Mark
  • Piece Mark
  • Quantity
  • Shape
  • Dimensions
  • Length
  • Grade

Required Columns for Time Tracking Import

  • Start Date/Time
  • End Date/Time
  • If not in the file the user will be prompted for the P
