Question:
How can I enable or disable dimension label on selected objects

Answer:
By default the dimension label of an object is shown when the object is selected by clicking on the object. It is not shown if the object is selected by Window selection.

This dimension label can be turned off in advanced options
FILE  > SETTINGS   > ADVANCED OPTIONS   > MODEL VIEW  > DISPLAY DIMENSIONS WHEN SELECTING OBJECTS  = FALSE
