DSTV Hard Stamps custom Positions

The Hard Stamp in the DSTV export can be customized to appear in different positions. These positions are based on the shape's default face name. To learn more about face names you can click here.

Here are the options for adjusting the location of the hard stamp.

Text height - Height of the characters in the hard stamp text.

Case - This option will force the characters in the hard stamp to always be upper/lower case or leave as it was entered.

By orientation mark - This option will follow the orientation options for project north directions. Click here for more information on Indicate part orientation. With this option set to Yes all other options will be turned off.

The distance from the end of the beam is controlled by these 2 advanced option. Range is 1mm to 3000.

Side - Indicates which face will receive the Hard Stamp. The Auto option will allow Tekla to determine the Face that is free to place the hard stamp. It is recommended to specify a Face to have more consistent results.

Position along part - This option will specify the location of the stamp along the length of the part. Left being the Start (Yellow Handle) and Right being the End (Magenta handle). There is an offset you can add from this location.

Position in depth of part - This option will specify the location on the width of the face.

Note: In all locations there is a tolerance of 30mm depth/sides and 30mm from part ends. 

Note: Depending on the font height, width of face,

and the 30mm tolerance. There is a built in hole avoidance feature that will keep the stamp from appearing on top of holes in most cases.
