Conditions affecting the length value in the NC file

Question:
When I cut the end of my beam and create NC files in DSTV format, I have noticed that the beam length value in my NC file differs dependent on the method I use to cut the end of the beam. Why do I get different length values?


Answer:
The length value in the NC file can be affected two ways.

  1. By the type of cut used at the end of a member.
  2. By the value of the Advanced option setting, XS_DXTV_NET_LENGTH.

The examples below, show the effect of both of these conditions.
